All genders welcome to drop in to this casual meet-up where we sew reusable menstrual pads for ourselves, our friends, and mutual aid networks! No sewing experience required: we can teach newbies how to use the sewing machine or use help with tracing and cutting patterns, adding snaps, etc.
Feel free to bring: a snack, dish, or drink to pass (vegan is helpful; please list ingredients or possible allergens if relevant); spare flannel or brushed cotton fabric to share with the project; your own sewing machine; vibes or come as you are!

A monthly self-defense class built for the queer community — and open to anyone who needs it and treats people with respect.
Led by Megan, a trans woman and 2nd-degree black belt in Okinawan Karate, this class was created because most martial arts were designed for people who were socialized to throw punches. We weren’t. So we built something better.
No punches. No prior experience. No machismo.
Our style draws inspiration from the thresher shark — one of the few animals capable of disabling multiple attackers at once — using hand strikes, sweeps, and the strategic art of turning your opponents into obstacles for each other. The goal is never to win a fight. It’s to escape one, confidently, so nobody bothers chasing you.
We learn through games and low-pressure exploration, because the moves that protect you are the ones your body already knows.

Are you feeling overwhelmed about the state of the world? Drowning in a sea of increasingly horrifying headlines? Fascist dictators, imperialist wars, a looming oil crisis, impending economic crash, mass surveillance, an American gestapo, a rapidly accelerating ecological crisis, corrupt politicians, a war on trans folks, white supremacy, megalomaniacal tech overlords… and that’s just the beginning. We live in fraught times, but also times of immense potential for building a better world. Which is why we’re starting a new Political Education event - Coffee and Current Events. Join us every first and third Saturday (10 am - Noon) as we try to make sense of the chaos and build a vision for how we get out of this dystopian nightmare. Come out to our weekly pancake breakfast (10am to 1pm), grab some flapjacks and a cuppa, and we’ll talk through the top headlines and pressing current events. Hope you can join us!

Join us for pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings! Free & open to all. Stop in for a cup of coffee, a plate, and the friendship. Feel free to pull books or art supplies off the shelves and make yourself comfy. All ages welcome!
There will be other programs happening at artfarm on some Saturdays, so keep your eyes peeled for special programs!
